Cafe Urbane Coffee Shop

Project statement: Design a coffee shop that belongs to a very busy client who runs other businesses from the same location. The client would like the lighting theme to be very functional, but on its own also be a piece of art. Effective, creative, and sustainable lighting approach to support the chosen theme and accentuate the architectural elements is important to the client.

Concept statement: Urban society blends with organic lines in the layout and application of the coffee shop. Curvilinear repetition flows throughout the space, and the culture of cities is exemplified in the bold colors as well as the art features. Various lighting is used to accentuate different zones, such as phototropism in the bar area, task lighting in the work space and accent lighting in the lounge area offering flexibility to the customers. The name Urbane originates from the polish and suavity of city life. Following the sophisticated lifestyle of urban dwellers, the coffee shops serves organic produce to encourage sustainable living.
